About The Gardens

While serving as a city council member in 2021, Waheed Zehri visited his family in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. During his trip, he saw a community garden and how beneficial it was for the local community. He felt inspired to bring that back with him. He spoke with Bullhead City officials and they began working on the garden right away. The city donated two-acres of land on Trane Road next to the senior center. With the help of many other community members, including the Master Gardeners of Bullhead City, they turned Dr. Zehri’s idea of a garden into a reality. After years of hard work, the team is proud to announce the new nonprofit, Bullhead Community Garden!

About Us

What's Been Happening...

Since the land was acquired, a Bullhead Community Garden Board was formed with the goal of developing this land into a multifunctional area with growing plots of various sizes and shapes, with future development of seating areas and an outdoor kitchen. A 5O1(c)(3) non-profit organization was started and donations began to come in. To date the donations to the Bullhead Community Garden have been the grading and fencing the entire project. Supplies have been received for the development of the Phase 1 area. Recently a contractor has been building the growing plots and lying in irrigation lines for this first phase. Funds have also been received for tool shed planned to be installed by the opening of the Phase I in the Fall of 2024.
